Welcome to Episode 54, how CBD supports your digestive and hormone Health. Today we are going to talk all about the purpose and functioning of your endocannabinoid system, discuss factors that deplete it, examine how CBD restores balance and address concerns regarding dependency and the natural production of endocannabinoids in your body. We're also going to dive into CBD's impact on your gut bacteria health and how it influences your hormone levels. I believe it is so important we understand how supplements interact with our bodies and this episode is dedicated to doing just that teaching you how CBD actually works inside your body so you can decide if it is a supplement that would be complementary to your family's wellness. Journey the endocannabinoid system is a complex network of receptors, endocannabinoids and enzymes found throughout your body. Endocannabinoids are internally naturally produced cannabinoids. The endocannabinoid system's primary role is to maintain balance and homeostasis throughout all of your bodily systems. The endocannabinoid system plays a critical role in regulating various processes, including your appetite, digestion, pain, sensation, mood and even your reproductive health. It does this by interacting with cannabinoids, both endocannabinoids that, again, are naturally produced in your body and cannabinoids from external sources like CBD. The exact number of people living with depleted endocannabinoid systems is quite challenging to determine precisely, but it is believed that a significant portion of the population has some degree of endocannabinoid deficiency, and rightfully so. There are many factors that contribute to the depletion of the endocannabinoid system. Chronic stress, unhealthy diets, full of processed foods, lack of exercise, environmental toxins, parasites, gut bacteria, imbalances medications and several medical conditions are among the primary contributors. 1s These factors can disrupt the balance and functioning of your endocannabinoid system, leading to reduced endocannabinoid levels in your body. Symptoms of endocannabinoid system depletion vary from person to person and manifest differently depending on your overall health, your lifestyle, and specific imbalances in your body. Here are symptoms, though, that are generally associated with an imbalance or depletion of your endocannabinoid system digestive issues mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, irritability and difficulty managing stress sleep disturbances pain and Inflammation the endocannabinoid system helps regulate pain and inflammation responses in your body. The depletion of endocannabinoids may contribute to increased pain sensitivity, chronic pain conditions, or heightened inflammation. Hormonal Imbalances the endocannabinoid system interacts with various hormones, and it plays a role in maintaining hormonal balance. Therefore, imbalances in hormone levels like irregular menstrual cycle cycles, fertility issues, or other reproductive health concerns could potentially be linked to an endocannabinoid deficiency.  Lastly, neurological symptoms such as migraines headaches, dizziness, nausea or difficulty with focus and concentration can all be linked to an endocannabinoid deficiency. Of course, these symptoms can also be caused and connected to various other factors and conditions. But one thing they all have in common they are all directly connected to your gut bacteria balance. So in just a minute, let's talk about how CBD is connected to your gut health. But first, let's talk about how to support your endocannabinoid system to help promote balance within your body. This is where CBD comes in. CBD is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in the hemp plant. It is one of the many compounds present in cannabis. But unlike THC, it does not come from the marijuana plant. It comes from the hemp plant, which are both.  In the cannabis family. CBD is nonintoxicating and it does not produce a psychoactive effect. CBD supports the endocannabinoid system by enhancing its functioning and promoting balance. It helps the system utilize its own endocannabinoids more efficiently U1 rather than altering their natural production levels. CBD supports all of the bodily systems. But but as we just talked about, in today's episode, we are going to focus primarily on how it supports your gut health and your hormone levels. CBD helps support your gut by reducing inflammation and promoting a healthy balance in the digestive system. It interacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the gut, helping to regulate intestinal absorption of nutrients, and it helps reduce inflammation. CBD's antimicrobial properties also help combat harmful bacteria in your gut, promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria. CBD's interaction with the endocannabinoid system directly influences your hormone production, release and overall balance. It helps regulate the activity of certain hormones such as cortisol, which is involved in your body's stress response. By promoting a more balanced stress response, CBD indirectly supports hormone regulation and alleviates symptom associated with hormonal imbalances. Additionally, CBD's antiinflammatory and antioxidant properties help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, which contributes to hormonal imbalances. Imbalances in estrogen level and progesterone can also be greatly supported by CBD. CBD indirectly supports estrogen and progesterone regulation and contributes to hormone balance. I have personal experience with this. I first learned of CBD when I was about six months pregnant with my fourth child. My midwife recommended it to me and I can tell you firsthand what a difference it made for the end of my pregnancy and most profoundly, my postpartum experience. I didn't experience this extreme highs and extreme lows that I had with my first three pregnancies. My fourth pregnancy and postpartum were by far the smoothest and most stable for me and I attribute this 100% to CBD. Nothing else was different other than me incorporating CBD starting at about six months pregnant. The. You 2s really quick. Are you wondering if you or your child have a gut imbalance? Now, 6s before we wrap this episode up, I think it's important that we talk about common concerns I hear from women and why my family continues to use CBD as an alternative to many over the counter medications. One common concern is whether CBD can lead to dependency. CBD is non, intoxicating and nonadictive meaning it does not produce a high and it does not create a physical craving for more. 1s Another question often asked is whether taking CBD affects your body's natural production of endocannabinoids. This is a really great question. Research suggests, though, that CBD does not impact the production of your naturally occurring endocannabinoids. Instead, it influences how the endocannabinoid system interacts with those cannabinoids. CBD supports the endocannabinoid system by enhancing its functioning and promoting balance. It helps the system utilize its own naturally occurring endocannabinoids more efficiently rather than altering their natural production levels. Now, CBD offers several advantages as an alternative to various OvertheCounter medications. Here are some reasons why my family and I take CBD. First, it is natural and plant based. As we talked about earlier, CBD is derived from hemp. CBD products generally contain minimal or no artificial additives, making them a much more gentle and natural choice. But in just a minute we are going to talk about how not all CBD is created equal. 2s Second, there aren't any side effects. Compared to most over the counter medications, CBD is generally well tolerated and the only associated adverse effect is possibly a dry mouth. But again, there's a catch to this and I'm going to cover it in just a minute. Third, rather than simply alleviating symptoms, CBD helps heal under line causes of certain symptoms. For instance, CBD's interaction with the endocannabinoid system can promote balance and homeostasis in the body, addressing the root cause of your symptom. Whereas alternatives like ibuprofen and Tylenol, for example, they may alleviate your pain for a short time, but they don't heal your body and they are actually very disruptive to your gut microbiome. While CBD is a wonderful alternative to many over the counter medications, it is so important to trust your source to know where the hemp is grown, to read the fine print for possible additives, and for it to be effective, you need to know how to take it. I go really in depth in all of this in episodes six and seven, so I definitely recommend you give those a listen. I'm so passionate about this and I could go deeply into it here, but I've already done it for you because. 1s And please, please go listen. Because what you will learn in those episodes makes all of the difference in CBD either being incredibly beneficial to your health or greatly detrimental. You need to know where the hemp is grown and how it is processed. Otherwise, you can be pretty certain you are going to end up with a bottle of concentrated toxins. Go listen to episode SOS six and seven when you're done with this. They're pretty short and sweet. Lastly, before we go, I have two announcements to share with you. First, in a search to always provide the absolute best quality products, we have upgraded our zero THC broad spectrum balance CBD. When we sourced the old one, it was the absolute best available at the time. But the industry is rapidly evolving and our commitment to improvement and providing you with the absolute best has given us the opportunity to offer a new and improved product. The new balanced CBD is the smoothest, purest, most effective and divine tasting CBD you will ever find. The ingredients are as pure as they always have been. It's only organic MCT tea oil and CBD from organically grown Colorado hemp. But the new and improved extraction process increases the number of beneficial cannabinoids and leaves us with an even more superior oil. Although this is a superior product and the cost for me is significantly more to source, for now, I am keeping the price the exact same for. 2s Second.
