[00:01:30] Well, Hey, there it's already episode nine. And before we dive into today's episode, I wanna give you a life update, not so much, because I think you care about my life, but because it really connects very strongly with today's episode, which is four things you can do right now to hyper focus on your family's gut bacteria.
[00:01:56] So my family has COVID. My husband tested positive I think it is two days ago and I he's, he's pretty achy and tired. I'm starting to feel the aches. My four children are pretty darn tired and sensitive. So I think we're all going down here. but we're good. We're strong. We're okay. I wanna share this with you because I wanna talk about testing for a second.
[00:02:26] I know that this is controversial and many of you might have decided that testing is unnecessary, which is totally great. That is just fine. There is no judgment in this at all. I just wanna share with you why my family tests and we. Ordered free tests. So we can do it in our home. In the show notes. I'm gonna just make a link for that.
[00:02:51] If for whatever reason you decide you want them, I'm not affiliated or trying to sell you at all. But I wanna know if my family has COVID many, many, many studies have shown that COVID like settles in the gut. And so you hear many stories of people. Like brain fog and chronic exhaustion for months following COVID and.
[00:03:20] in my opinion, I think we can proactively combat that by nurturing our gut bacteria up front and being hyperfocused while we're in the thick of it. And just like everything I share on this podcast, this is not medical advice. I'm not telling you have a cure or an answer. This is just what my family does and why we test.
[00:03:44] I wanna know now I know I am being super, super vigilant in nurturing my family's gut bacteria. We do this all the time anyway, but I'm amping everything up right now, which leads us perfectly into today's episode. I wanna share four things that you can do today to hyper focus on your family's gut bacteria.
[00:04:09] The first one is the simplest. Water your water makes a huge difference. So it's likely you have one of two water setups. You maybe have a well, or a spring that feeds into your home, which is wonderful because you are getting abundant amounts of the Earth's good bacteria from your water, but maybe you live in a city, which is way more likely or a town.
[00:04:42] and your water is treated, meaning it's chlorinated to kill the bad bacteria and pathogens. Thank you. Right? Who wants bad bacteria and S pathogens coming in through their faucet? No, thanks. But what happens at the same time is that chlorine not only kills the bad bacteria and pathogens. Also kills the good bacteria and not just in the water, that's coming into your home.
[00:05:13] When you consume that water. It's very harmful on your fragile, good bacteria in your gut. And so having a nano water filtration system to take out that chlorine is really amazing. I have a couple of recommendations for you, especially if you don't have thousands of dollars that you're ready to invest in a filtration system.
[00:05:39] My favorite is the on the counter Burkey water filter. I'm not affiliated. By any stretch of the imagination. But my family used a Bey for many years while we were traveling in our Airstream, we just had it on our counter and we always kept it full and it was amazing. You can smell the difference in the water, like fill up a cup of Burkey water and fill up a cup of tap water.
[00:06:04] Wow. It's phenomenal. We, if you do, maybe you're a, a traveler and you have an ear stream or any type of travel trailer. Another one that we highly recommend is I think it's clear source water, clear water source. Oh gosh. had I taken notes here. I would know the name, but I'm gonna link it in my show notes.
[00:06:26] Okay. I'm really flying by the seat of my pants here. This is how I roll. Because this is how I show up with the best energy. Most people probably would have their podcasts. I don't know, batch. Recorded many weeks or months in advance, but I just don't live that way. If I were to do that, I wouldn't be in it with you and sharing my energy.
[00:06:49] So here it is, Sunday night, father's day. This goes out tomorrow, Monday, June 20th. And I freaking love this because I get to share my energy and excitement and get fired up with you in this. So. Forgive me if I get names wrong, I'll make sure to link the correct name with the correct link in the show notes.
[00:07:12] Okay. If you ever want to follow any of these so clear source water, I think filtration system, it's some combination of those three words is so crazy good. And they actually have one, that's like a step up than the one we have. You can actually. Filter it straight from like a marshy pond or a swamp or a lake.
[00:07:35] You can fill your RV, water tanks up. And the filtration system is so good that it purifies it and makes it pristine for you so that I highly recommend that one. And again, not affiliated just really, really love it. And being able to travel. All around the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and feeling confident in our water is huge peace of mind.
[00:08:00] And okay, while I'm here, though, I'm thinking about it. We are actually, when we are cleaning out this little gosh, I have so much to tell you we've moved. I've moved my recording studio over into a little cabin. So I'm no longer in my loft. I'm in this little cabin that used to be like a little storage cabin.

So send me a message. Okay. I, I'm not familiar with any, like, I don't know. I know there are a lot of like reverse osmosis.
[00:09:00] Water filtration systems that I'm sure are wonderful. Just research it because a lot of water filtration systems create a lot of waste. So for every one, I think it's in reverse osmosis. Every one part pure water that you get. There's two or three parts. That are just wasted. And so we don't wanna be that wasteful of our water.
[00:09:25] So just research it, you want a nanofiltration system and a Burkey is probably the most affordable place to start. We're gonna move on to the second part here. This is free. and it is something that you just get to choose to prioritize. It's a whole nother reason. Your gut bacteria is a whole new reason to prioritize time in nature.
[00:09:50] Dip your toes in the mud. Go for a walk barefoot, spend time in a forest, swim in a stream or in the ocean. Breathe, the fresh air and gift your body. Allow your body to bathe in the Earth's abundant. Good bacterias. It is all around us garden. Be outside roll in the grass, but make sure it's not been treated with chemicals, which is gonna get us to the next part.
[00:10:23] Part three is get familiar with GMO. maybe you are already in the weeds with GMOs, or maybe you've just heard of GMOs and you're not sure why you should care. I'm gonna give you a little bit here, but it gets me really fired up. So it could be an entire episode on its own. And I have a documentary recommendation for you.
[00:10:46] Okay. G GMOs. It is not just like cross breeding plants. That is not the. Negative part of GMOs. The problem with GMOs is that they are created. So they, the, those GMO crops can withstand being saturated in Roundup and all the weeds die, all the bugs die, but the plants still grows. This creates great yield for farmers and it reeks havoc on us because I don't care how many times these GMO companies like Monto will tell you it is safe for human consumption.
[00:11:28] How can this be? How can it kill every weed and every bug and be okay for us to consume. My family really faced this head on this winter. We were traveling in our Airstream for several months and we naively went to the Salton sea. We saw it on a map and thought, oh, that would be beautiful. Let's go. And upon arrival, we were shocked that we were the only ones at this beautiful lake.
[00:11:57] Well, Once we like settled in, we looked around and we saw signs everywhere. Warning us. Don't touch the sand. Don't go beyond the rocks. Don't go on the sand. Don't touch the water. Do like call an emergency vet. If you're a pet, eats the toxic foam on the shore. And we are like, wow, what's happening? What is this?
[00:12:20] And , maybe everybody knows about the toxicity of the Salton sea. We did not. And. There are decades of poor human choices that have led to the toxicity of the Salton sea, but the most relevant today, what is making it, making it more toxic today than it has ever been before is that all of the surrounding fields are GMO crops and the Salton sea is like the drainage catch for all of the.
[00:12:56] All of the Roundup water that is sprayed on these crops. And so it is awful. It is awful. And with a little bit of research, we learned that like the Salton sea is drying up and what's left is concentrations of Roundup at the bottom. Like the sand. And so these big gusts of wind come through and the surrounding areas, the rate of autism and cancer is like 75% higher than anywhere else.
[00:13:31] It is absolutely wild. And. Is today, what is happening that is making the Salton sea more toxic than it's ever been before is that it's catching all of the GMO drainage. And so how can this be? How can it be that all of these, this Dr. GMO drainage water has made it so that everything has died in the Salton sea.
[00:13:56] When you go the entire shore, it looks like little shells or little rocks. No, no, no, no. It is fish bones. How can this be? I challenge you to research GMOs, get familiar and make a decision with intention. Don't just consume them because it's normal and it's what everybody's doing. And because the GMO companies and whoever says it's okay.
[00:14:24] No, no, no. You mama, you take leadership and educate yourself and then make a decision. And I have absolutely no judgment on the decision that you make, but make it with intention. Do not live ignorantly to GMOs. Can you feel me? I'm getting fired up here. I'm gonna have to create a whole nother episode on this for now.
[00:14:46] Go watch the documentary GMO, OMG again, I'll link this in the show notes. I promise you this documentary is going to get you fired up a fired up. Mama is an empowered mama and you deserve to be an empowered mama. Okay. I'm gonna try to cool it down a little bit here and move on to the fourth thing.
[00:15:08] Supplementing. Should you supplement, should you not supplement? My family does. And here's why. we are no longer getting all of the abundant good bacteria from our fruits, vegetables, and greens. The way that we historically have as humans, we are not able to naturally consume enough good bacteria to keep alignment within our body.
[00:15:36] So I highly recommend a really good. Gut focused probiotic. There are millions of different probiotics out there. Not all of them are created equal. So make sure you know what you're taking, which actually I'm gonna wrap this episode up and on Wednesday, I'm gonna share another episode with you about the different kinds of probiotics to look for and what is going to be the most.
[00:16:07] Supportive to your family's gut bacteria, because if you are taking the time to invest in a probiotic, you wanna make sure that it's actually doing for your body, what you need it to do.
