We are in our Airstream for a couple of weeks to be near family. This week we are parked about an hour from the city at my husbands uncles and what a treat it is. They have a culinary garden and are beyond generous with their knowledge and plants. We decided to make a fun project out of learning all of the plants names and culinary and/or medicinal uses. As we meandered through the garden we only allowed ourselves to trim the plants that we knew the names of by heart. Braiding the wormwood into the wreaths backing made us giggle as it reminded us of our favorite book, Matilda. We sampled fennel, sucked on mint and reveled in the lemon balm scent. Tonight our fingers feel a little raw and our hearts so whole. Learning together, crafting projects made from nature and spending long summer days under the warm sun are what make this life ever so enjoyable.
The kids crafted two extra wreathes to sell. Grab one quick so it can arrive to you hopefully as beautiful as it is today.
